Personnel Disputes and Dissolution of the Chinese Theatrical Arts Association

中华剧艺社(中艺)是抗战时期出现的著名剧团,它的解散是诸多原因促成的,但内部人事纠纷无疑是最为关键的因素。一方面是内部成员组织涣散,演员流失严重;另一方面是领导阶层龃龉不合,理事会形同虚设。话剧职业化,必然要求剧团现代化。中艺的解散充分说明,剧团职业化发展还不够充分,剧团现代化任重道远。

The Chinese Theatrical Arts Association （＂Chinese Arts＂ for short） was a famous theatrical troupe. There were a lot of reasons for its dissolution, but the internal personnel dispute was undoubtedly the most crucial factor. First of all, the slack organization of internal members caused serious loss of actors; besides, the leadership was the discordant and the council existed in name only. Drama professionalization required the modernization of the troupe. The dissolution of Chinese arts showed that the occuoation develooment was not sufficient, and the modern theatre still had a long way to go.
