论云南地方本科院校英语专业学生翻译能力的培养

On Development of Translation Ability of English Majors of Local Universities of Yunnan Province

地方本科院校是地方经济发展的主力军,承担着培养高层次人才、促进地方经济发展的重任。高层次翻译人才的培养既是学校发展的需要,也是市场经济的需要。笔者拟以地方本科院校英语专业为对象,从翻译课程现状入手,分析存在的不足,提出从课内改革、课外训练和师资建设三个方面入手提高地方本科院校大学生的翻译能力,找出一条培养大学生翻译能力的有效途径,使当代大学生在翻译领域具备较强的能力和市场竞争力,为社会经济发展做出应有的贡献。

Local universities serve as the main force of local economic development by producing high - profile graduates to promote local economic prosperity. To produce high -profile translators and interpreters is required by development of the universities themselves as by the needs of market economy. In this paper, the author takes as his research subject English majors of the local universities and, departing from an analysis of the current status and existing problems of the translation courses offered, suggests that en effective way might be found to enhance the translation ability of the English majors from three aspects - classroom reform, extra - curriculum training and faculty upgrade - to ensure that our graduates are translation - competent and competition- ready on the employment market.
