This paper briefly described the changes and improvements of public library＇ s reference service from traditional type to modem type, and analyzed and gave new online reference service based on distributed database sharing and new web technology, and then discussed a way with advantages complemented for the future development of reference service by comparing the existing reference service mode with the new mode.
