摘要
Many of the issues in contemporary society arise from the interaction between language life and social life. Discovering and resolving these issues requires coordinated efforts from a wide range of disciplines other than linguistics in the traditional sense. Due to their inherent complexity, language issues with social impact must be approached from a multi-disciplinary perspective based on a mutual exchange of research methodologies. Taking a cross- disciplinary approach to the study of language and language life not only helps broaden the path and vision of contemporary linguistics, but also throws light on the understanding and solution of a variety of practical issues underlying such language issues.
