内蒙古巴林左旗辽上京遗址的考古新发现

The New Archaeological Discovery in the Shangjing City Site of the Liao Dynasty in Bairin Left Banner, Inner Mongolia

辽上京遗址位于内蒙古自治区巴林左旗林东镇东南（图一）。城址南北部的皇城和南部的汉城两部分组成，平面略呈“日”字形，总面积约5平方公里。

In 2016, the Second Inner Mongolian Archaeological Team, IA, CASS and other institutions excavated the south gate and the south veranda of Courtyard No. 2 of the palace city and the street in the east gate of the imperial city of the Shangjing City Site of the Liao Dynasty. The south gate of the palace city was well preserved, the structure and construction method were clearly shown. The results of the trial excavations and formal excavations confi rmed that the earliest planning of the imperial city of the Shangjing(Upper Capital) of the Liao Dynasty was a symmetrical design with the east gate as the facing direction. This is the new discovery of the archaeology of the Shangjing City Site of the Liao Dynasty.
