The Process of the National Library of Peiping in Recovering the Banned Books Looted by the New Civilian Society under Japanese Puppet Regime

抗日战争爆发后,日伪新民会从国立北平图书馆劫掠了三十箱所谓"禁书"。根据国家图书馆档案记载,对于这批被劫书籍,无论是留守的北平图书馆,还是日据时期的"国立北京图书馆",都始终宣示主权,为追讨书籍与日伪当局进行了艰难的交涉。抗战胜利后,国立北平图书馆亦积极追索劫余书籍,努力将损失减至最小。

After the outbreak of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the New Civilian Society under Japanese Puppet Regime plundered thirty boxes of so-called banned books from the National Library of Peiping （ hereinafter referred to as＂ NLP＂ ）. According to the archives by the National Library of China, NLP made difficult negotiations with the Japanese Puppet Regime in order to recover the books.
