全球性信息时代的到来,对信息科学、技术和社会等研究领域的全球合作提出了严峻的挑战。在一个全球可持续信息社会的愿景中,不同于当前人们利用技术、环境等公共资源的主导方式,它呼唤着科学技术、生态、经济、政治、文化乃至社会整体系统对公共资源的合理性应用。与个人主义相反,向全球可持续信息社会的转型要求一种新的世界公民主义,实现个体的反身性革命。社会进化是涌现的,那么向全球可持续信息社会的必要转变并非不可能。

The adventure of a global informational time is challenging the global cooperation in those research fields of information science, technology and society. Different with current means of applying technology, environment and any other commons, in a global sustainable information society, it is urging to take a reasonable way of applying commons by science, technology, ecology, economics, politics, culture and even the whole social system. Contrary to the idiotism, the transformation to a global sustainable information society needs a new kind of world citizens, which would necessitate a reflexive revolution. Socialevolution is emergent, and situations might occur that open the window to the needful trans- formation into a global sustainable information society.
