THz Routing Switch and Beam Splitter Based on Magnetic Photonic Crystals

摘要 利用铁氧体材料磁导率随外加磁场强度变化的性质,提出了一种基于二维磁光子晶体的THz选路光开关和分束器。采用PWM(平面波展开法)和FDTD(有限差分时域)法进行了数值计算和仿真分析,结果表明,该选路光开关的插入损耗为0.017dB,消光比高达26.97dB,最大稳定时间约为25.3ps;分束器的附加损耗仅为0.07dB,且分光比几乎为1∶1。利用该结构实现的THz选路开关和分束器,在未来的集成光路中具有很好的应用前景。 Considering the property that magnetic permeability of the ferrite material changes under the control of an external magnetic field,a novel scheme of THz routing optical switch and beam splitter,based on two-dimensional magnetic photonic crystals,is proposed.Theoretical analysis and numerical simulation is conducted by Plane Wave Method(PWM)and FiniteDifference Time-Domain(FDTD).The results show that,the insertion loss of the routing optical switch is 0.017 dB,the extinction ratio is 26.97 dB,and the maximum stability time is 25.3ps.Moreover,the additional loss of the beam splitter is only0.07 dB,and the splitting ratio is nearly 1∶1.The routing optical switch and beam splitter are achieved by using these two-dimensional magnetic photonic crystals,which have important application prospect in future integrated optical circuit.
