摘要
霍米·巴巴的文化翻译理论超越传统意义上的文学文本中的文化翻译,认为文化翻译的过程就是构建文化身份的过程,是少数族文化存活策略,这为人们从翻译视角研究华裔美国作家的跨文化书写提供了理论依据。汤亭亭通过文化翻译式的跨文化书写,成功跻身美国主流社会,为美籍华裔赢得话语权。《女勇士》中,汤亭亭对碎片化的"中国"记忆进行改写和重塑,通过与她身处的美国文化的杂合,构建起中美文化间的"第三空间",消解了西方文化主体地位,也表达了美国华裔的文化身份诉求。
Cultural translation theory of Homi Bhabha,quite different from cultural translation of literary texts in the traditional sense,holds that cultural translation process is the one of building a cultural identity and it is the surviving policy of ethnic minority,which provides us a theoretical basis to investigate the Chinese-American authors' intercultural writing from the perspective of translation studies.Maxine Hong Kingston successfully ascended to the mainstream of American society and won discursive power for Chinese-Americans through her intercultural writing.The same as many other Chinese-American writers,Kingston rewrote and reshaped incomplete Chinese memories in The Woman Warrior and constructed the third space between Chinese and American cultures through cultural hybridity,which weakened the dominant position of Western culture and announced a Chinese-American cultural identity aspirations.
