Identification of Mediterranean Intellectuals with Classical Culture Seen from Lucian's Biography

Lucian was an important scholar in ancient Roman Empire, living in Antonian Dynasty which was the most prosperous dynasty in Roman history. Lucian experienced several career changes： growing from an apprentice of sculpture to an acute observer of various social phenomena and a satirist who composed those phenomena into writing. Lucian＇s hometown, life experiences and the office he took could not only show that he had travelled throughout the Mediterranean world, but also reflect the identification of Mediterranean intellectuals with classical culture.
