Master Ouyi's Faith, Wishes and Endeavors in the Inheritance of Tiantai Sect

蕅益大师于天台宗并没有直接的师承关系,但他崇尚天台义理,坚信台宗是救明末佛教于不坠的津梁,信"诚";他以宗教的情怀向往生净土的传灯大师表达了强烈而深切的承接法印之愿,愿"切";他从理论到实践为天台宗的发展做出了突出的贡献,行"真"。他创立的灵峰派成为最主要,弘传最广的天台法脉。

Master Ouyi had no master as his teacher in the Tiantai Sect. Nevertheless,for his sincere saving Buddhism from failing for the religion, he expressed faith, he adored its doctrines and was convinced that it was the key to in the late Ming Dynasty. For his genuine wishes, with his deep feelings his strong and heartfelt wishes to inherit and carry on the Sect to Mas- ter Chuandeng who had passed away to the world of peace. For his concrete endeavors, on both theory and practice, he has made tremendous contribution to the development of Tiantai Sect. The Lingfeng School he initiated has become the major and most widespread lineage of the Sect.
