翻译目的论视角下古建筑景区术语口译策略

Terminology Interpreting Strategies in Tourist Attractions of Ancient Architecture from the Perspective of the Skopos Theory

中国拥有不少古建筑旅游景点,这些景点背后往往蕴含着体现中国独特的民族文化和心理的典故,导游在介绍景点时难免涉及到相应的术语,在翻译术语时如何译出术语的语言层面,同时也传达出其文化层面是一件很关键的事,且许多术语的处理始终要关注文化差异及受众的接受能力,这就使得术语翻译成为导游口译中的一件难事。为了让外国人理解这些术语的内涵,导游口译员在做译前准备时不仅要追本溯源,咬文嚼字,深刻理解其中蕴含的文化因子,还要在遣词造句时化难为简,并考虑参观游览时口译的时效性,用一种普遍受众可以理解的方式去翻译相应的术语。论文结合翻译目的论及口译实践简要分析古建筑景区中导游口译中术语翻译的策略。

China has abundant tourist attractions of ancient architecture, which embody allusions that reflect unique Chinese culture and mentality. When guide-interpreting in these places, it is inevitable to deal with the interpreting of terminologies. It matters a lot to interpret the terminologies not only linguistically but also culturally, which is never easy because of the cultural difference and the tourists＇ differentiated channel capacity. In order to make these terminologies clear to the foreign tourists, the guide interpreter should build a solid understanding of these culture-loaded terminologies by studying their origin and meaning in the pretask preparation, and interpret them in an understandable and efficient way. Based on the Skopos Theory and interpreting practices, this thesis is aimed to explore the adoptable strategies when interpreting terminologies in tourist attractions of ancient architecture.
