On November 7, the Standing Committee of the National People＇s Congress unanimously adopted the Interpretation of Article 104 of the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People＇s Republic of China. According to several law experts from the mainland, this interpretation by the Standing Committee of the National People＇s Congress, undoubtedly lawful and authoritative, is very timely. Moreover, it is an essential act to maintain national unity and suppress Hong Kong＇s pro-independence forces.
