10月12日，香港立法会议员进行宣誓仪式，立法会秘书长陈维安不接纳游蕙祯、梁颂恒及姚松炎的誓词，并按议事规则指三人不能参与包括香港立法会主席选举等会议及表决，直至新任主席为三人重新监誓。10月12日，功能界别议员梁君彦当选第6届立法会主席。

On October 12, 2016, the oath ceremony for the sixth Legislative Council （LegCo） of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region （SAR） was held. The Oaths of Yau Wai-ching, Sixtus Leung Chung-hang, and Edward Yiu Chung-yim were rejected by Legislative Council secretary general Kenneth Chen.
