Sohn-Rethel follows the point of view of historical materialism,tries to pursue the real social and historical foundation of western concept of epistemology and Kantian a priori philosophical framework,especially the generation mechanism in the commodity exchange relationship. At this point,he unconsciously highlights the fundamental difference between Marx's epistemology of history and traditional epistemology of philosophy. The main object of epistemology is not only the visible objects above the perceptual experience,but also the perspective of the specific relationship and the intrinsic order of the social historical life. Even today,these issues are important areas of research and major theoretical tasks that have not been taken seriously by academia. That is why we have to rediscover Sohn-Rethel.
