摘要
《天演论》作为一本会通中西的译作,利用中国传统文化来翻译原文是一大特色,对比发现,手稿中反复出现了有关《周易》的内容。本文试从改写角度探讨《周易》对《天演论》翻译的影响,通过对比《天演论》手稿和赫氏原文,找出严复运用《周易》思想改写原文之处,并对其采用的具体翻译方法进行探讨,以体会严复所说的精理微言,取名深义,进一步认识其翻译观。
As a translation integrating Chinese and western intellect, Tian Yan Lun has a remarkable feature to use the traditional Chinese culture to rewrite the origional work. Compared with the origional work, Zhou Yi is frequently quoted in the manuscript of Tian Yan Lun. This paper tries to explore what is different in the manuscript by using Zhou Yi from the perspective of rewriting. Comparing the manuscript with the original work, this paper aims to find out rewriting areas by Yanfu and further discusses the specific translation methods. It will be helpful to understand how to use brief words to express profound ideas and to deepen the knowledge of Yanfu＇s trans- lation theories.
