摘要
《大明律》是中国古代法律的集大成者,在中国法制史上具有划时代意义。Jiang Yonglin为实现其文化交流之目的采用了不同的翻译策略:增删有度、直译或顺译、深度翻译,从而使得该译本誉满全球。
The Great Ming Code as the epitome of Chinese legal code embodies the essential spirit of ancient China, which is a landmark in Chinese legal history. With examples, the paper delves into the translation strategies, translation goals and the reader＇s reception of the English version from the perspective of Descriptive Translation Studies. As is evidenced by the English version of the Great Ming Code, such translation strategies as addition and deletion, literal translation and thick translation are adopted, rendering the English version tremendous popularity around the world. This paper broadens the research perspective of the English version of the The Great Ming Code and has important implication for Chinese legal code.
