A Contrastive Genre Analysis of Sino-US Company Profiles in the Fast-moving Consumer Goods Industry

摘要 文章根据专门用途英语学派的体裁分析理论,构建了商务体裁研究理论框架,对30篇中美快消品行业企业简介进行了体裁对比分析。结果表明,中美快消品行业企业简介语步结构基本一致,但二者在语步和步骤的选择频率、介绍性语步和劝说性语步的实现形式上存在差异。 Based on the ESP approach of genre analysis, this study has constructed a theoretical framework for the genre analysis of business discourse. Thirty profiles of Chinese and American companies in the fast moving consumer goods sector have been collected in an attempt to compare discourse structures and language features. According to the research findings, Chinese company profiles and American company profiles generally share the same move structure, but they are different in such areas as the frequency of some moves and steps and linguistic features of both informative and promotional moves.
