《舍巴日》是孙健忠后期小说创作之代表,也是他热衷于表现湘西土家族神魔艺术的佳作。文本内多处使用湘西方言俚语、濒临消失的土家族语言,集中展示土家族远古神话与传说,为民间叙事提供丰富素材。在创作手法上,他巧妙地运用第三人称全知视角,俯瞰全景,并采用说书式的自由叙事方式及边缘性的叙事姿态,书写土家族的民族性与民众心性,让《舍巴日》成为具有审视民族心理、阐述时代变迁、批判民族劣根性的民间叙事佳作。

She ba Days is the representative of the late novels of Sun Jianzhong and is also the masterpiece of showing the Tujia mythical artistic item. There are a lot of Xiangxi slang dialect, the endangered Tujia languages and Tujia ancient myths and leg-ends in the novel to provide rich material for the folk narrative. Sun Jianzhong used the third-person omniscient point of view in the creation cleverly and wrote Tujia Nationality and people’s heart and mind by the free way of storytelling and the edge of the narrative attitude, so Sheba Days is looked into a folk narrative works to gaze at the national psychology, explain the changing of the times and criticize the national evil.
