Mathcad Applied to Design and Calculation of Plane Steel Gate

This paper briefly introduces Mathcad software and compares with advantages and disadvantages on compilation of calculation sheet of plane steel gate by three different ways in Word, Excel, and Mathcad software. Taking maintenance gate intake of headrace tunnel of a project as an example, this paper describes how to compile its calculation sheet by Mathcad software, including schematic drawing of gate structure, calculation of panel, main and edge beams, computation process, and self-defining program, and finally summarizes Mathcad advantages on compilation of calculation sheet of plane steel gate structure.
