The paper gives the background, purposes, development principles of electronics standard ＂specification of manufacturing execution systems （MES） - part 15： software function of manufacturing executive system for chemical industry＂. For better understanding the standard, the paper presents the terminology, functional components, functional specifications, internal and external interface, model object attributes, system architecture and specifications.
