Furniture is the true portrayal of life. The Chinese classical masterpiece ＂A Dream of Red Mansions＇shows the life pictures of the late feudal society in China, and the records of the furniture in the book will help us to study the furniture＇s characteristics of the relationship with that times. Through exploring and analyzing the nuanced description of a large number of indoor furniture at the aristocratic fam- ilies as Rongguo house and Ningguo house in the Qing Dynasty, a glimpse into the furniture＇s wide catego- ry, exquisite material and wonderful crafts at that time has been revealed. The analysis on the characteristics of the relationship with time can provide inspiration and basis for the design of China＇s modern furniture and furnishings.
