A Kongtong Dream Accompanied by the Waves and the Moon

在烟台山下美丽的滨海广场,隔海遥望,茫茫无垠的大海上,散落着几座岛屿,那就是崆峒岛。它像一个永远守望的舰队,任凭风吹浪打,坚韧执著地护卫、陪伴着这个高楼林立、繁华昌明的都市。地方志上记载：“崆峒岛由崆峒、扁担、马岛、加岛、豆卵、地留星、头孤、二孤、三孤等岛屿组成,总面积1平方公里,主岛面积0.84平方公里。

Looking across the beautiful Binhai Square below the Yantai Mountain into the immense sea,you can find several scattering islands,that is,Kongtong Island.It seems like a fleet that watches out all the time regardless of winds or waves to tenaciously and persistently safeguard and accompany this prosperous and thriving city full of high-rise buildings.Composed of Kongtong,Biandan,Ma,Jia,Douluan,Diliuxing,Tougu,Ergu and Sangu Islands,Kongtong Island covers a total area of 1 square kilometer with its main island of 0.84 square kilometers.Situated in the low hilly terrain with the north of its main peak at an altitude of 63.8 meters,Kongtong Island is as long as 1.95 kilometers and as wide as 0.5 kilometers.The mountain range on the island runs east to west for 1,500 meters in a T-shape.Lying in the north of the island,it forms a natural defence for the island to be warm in winter and cool in summer.Mounting on Kongtong Island,you would feel as if you came to a retreat away from the world surrounded by the vast sea with soft waves and white sand under your feet and floating red scarves of the female workers in the aquatic products processing plant not far away.Look over and you will see pure blue everywhere:the sky is blue,so are the sea,the salty air and the wind.
