从1889年“镇江领事馆事件”管窥清末地方社会的冲突

A Glimpse of the Conflict of Local Society in the Late Qing Dynasty from the Event of Zhenjiang Consulate in 1889

1861年镇江英租界的设立,对镇江近代化发展产生重大影响。西方列强"不自觉地"从客观上推动了镇江经济的繁荣。与此同时,镇江社会内部矛盾相随凸显。1889年镇江境内爆发的火烧领事馆事件正是各种社会冲突的典型性产物。本文围绕这一事件,从租界当局、华洋之间、中国社会内部三个侧面展开论述,以期揭露清末地方社会的内在矛盾及其复杂性。

The establishment of Zhenjiang British Concession in 1861 had a significant impact on Zhenjiang modern development. Western promoted economie prosperity of Zhenjiang without conciousness. At the same time, the internal eontradictions of Zhenjiang increased. The outbreak of British Concession event in 1889 was a concentrated expression of the soeial confliets. Around this event, this article reveal the social contradietiors, and it＇s complexiey, from three aspects： coneession authority,relationship between Chinese and froign people, Chinese society.
