The lower head service gate in Xiangjiaba ship lift is the sinking- type double- leaf plate gate with small navigation flap gates and the mechanical equipment installed inside the gate. The manufacture of the gate is of great difficulty due to its complicated structure,complex manufacturing technique and high precision requirement. The gate manufacturing techniques and major processes are introduced and discussed,including the blanking,welding,assembly,machining,testing and final acceptance.
