The Causation Conceptual Frame and English Caused-motion Construction

在分析语料的基础上,从致使概念框架的角度探讨了Goldberg的英语使动构式类型。研究表明,含本义的使动小句分属两个不同的概念过程;表达信息传递类小句的使动结果的实现依赖语境;表意义同时进行的使动小句中的动作者和受动者同时完成了相同的动作。此外,英语中有一类使动句强调"结果"义;特定动词的二价小句也可表达使动义。所以,致使概念框架具有较强的认知操作能力,能较好地表述和解释概念内容,能阐释动词概念框架与致使概念框架之间的吻合关系。

Based on the corpus and the theory of the Causation Conceptual Frame, the English Caused - motion Construction catorgorized by Goldberg was studied. The study shows that the causative sentences containing cen-tral sense belong to two different conceptual processes, that the actualization of causative result of the sentences expressing the transimission of information depends on context,and that the sentences with the meaning of co - existence have two actions occurring together. In addition, some causative sentences emphasize the meaning of “ RESULT” ; the sentences with the bivalent verbs may have causative meaning. Therefore, the Causation Con-ceptual Frame possesses the advantages in testing,and can appropriately describe and explain conceptual content because it can expound the agreement between the verb conceptual frame and the causation conceptual frame.
