摘要
本文以王尔德童话为例,通过文本细读和文体分析,探讨创作童话翻译中人物形象的再造问题,认为在译作中人物形象再造失败的根本原因在于译者对原作中人物形象识解不充分。根据卡尔波珀的人物塑造模型,笔者认为译者应在先验知识准备上做更多努力,同时以原作为本深刻分析文本表层结构,坚持通读-细读-通读这一自上而下再自下而上的循环阅读方式,从而加深对人物的理解,为实现翻译中的人物形象再造提供必要条件。
The paper explores the representation of characterization in translating literary fairy tales through close reading and stylistic analysis of the source text with the case study of Oscar Wilde's fairy-tales and finds that translators, insufficient comprehension of characterization in the source text accounts for its inconsistency between target texts and source texts. Based on Culpeper's theory of characterization, the authors propose that translators should be better prepared in prior experience,analyze the surface structure of source text thoroughly and apply the cyclic method of top-down and bottom-up reading, which involves the whole reading? close reading and whole reading cycle? to recreate the characterization in target text faithfully.
