For chronic kidney disease, the idea of deficient root cause and excess superficial manifestations shouht be through the whole process, but the degree of deficiency, excess and severity may be different in different constitutions, different time and different stages, which demands exact syndrome differentiation and administration of drugs before obtaining good therapeutic effects. All in all, cor- rect understanding of the pathogenesis characteristics is an important prerequisite to the syndrome differentiation and treatment of the chronic kidney disease.
