＂Panopticon＂ is the central concept of Foucauh＇ s book Discipline and Punish, in which he analy- zes Benthamin＇ s ＂panopticon＂ from the perspective of power operation. He believes that ＂panopticon＂ is actually a metaphor of the society which is in the ＂prison＂ all the time. The people in the human society are always under surveillance and discipline, so that the power can operate in an autonomous and covertly perfect mechanism. Nowadays, the development of the Internet guides the re - structuring of the society, and the whole soccial pattern is reconstructed into a network society. Under the new social context, it is theoretically and practically significant to explore the new variations of ＂Discipline and Punish＂ for the purpose of providing some new thinking for the people in the network society.
