脑损伤患者镇静深度调节的基础在于镇静目的。当以非特异性器官功能保护为目的时，轻度镇静同样适用于脑损伤患者；当以脑保护为主要目的时，对颅高压和脑代谢的控制，可作为调节镇静深度的依据。

In brain injured patients, titration of sedation depth depends on the objective of sedation. Light sedation, or in other words, avoiding deep sedation, might be suitable for the non -specific organ protection as the sedation objective. While cerebral protection is set as the primary objective, sedation depth could be titrated according to the control of intracranial pressure or cerebral metabolism.
