摘要
本研究采用福柯话语、知识与权力之间关系的理论,指出《纽约时报》涉华报道其实是由美国主流社会生产和操纵的话语通过对言说对象——中国——进行赋权、限制和建构,从而系统地"创造"出一个"中国"的结果。美国媒介镜像下的中国国家形象不只是单一的在美国媒介新闻生产和议程设置主导下的框架性形塑的静态文本,更是兼容开放性与对抗性,以及深具文本间性色彩的一种"界定"中国事务的话语实践。
Based on Foucault's theory of discourse, knowledge and power, this study maintains that through the process of empowerment, restriction and construction, as a discursive object, "China" is systematically created by mainstream American society within the production and manipulation of discourse. Mirrored by American news media, China' s national image is no longer a solely static text embedded in the framework shaped by news production and agenda setting process, but a discursive practice which can "define" China's affairs with the characteristics of openness, confrontation and intertextuality.
