在中国新诗史上,新月派占有一个特殊而重要的位置,是新诗史上活动时间最长、诗人众多、有明确艺术纲领、取得较高创作成就的一个重要诗派,主要成员有闻一多、徐志摩、朱湘、林徽因等人。这一诗歌流派的贡献在于总结早期白话诗普遍缺乏诗意和自由诗激情泛滥的教训,适当借鉴英语格律诗的经验,在新诗格律化的形式探索上卓有成效,力图使新诗走向"规范化"的道路。新月诗派的出现,是中国新诗艺术发展历程中的一座里程碑。

The Crescent School was of great significance in the longest active time, a large number of poets, a clear program of art history of Chinese new poetry, for it boasted the and superior accomplishments of writing. There were many representatives of the crescent school, such as Wen Yiduo, Hsu Chih - too, Zhu Xiang and Lin Huiyin. The major contribution of this genre is that it was highly effective in the exploration of the rules and rhythms of the new poetry and strive to make the new poetry embark on the path of ＂standardization＂ through the lesson of the insufficient poetic flavor of the vernacular verses at the early phase and the proper reference of the English metrical poetry. The emergence of the Crescent School was a milestone in the development of the Chinese new poetry.
