On Socialist Core Values and the Nurturing of Teachers' Ethics: On Xi Jinping's Ideological Research into Teachers' Ethics

师德是教师的灵魂。教师的职业特性、教育的特殊功能、师德在整个社会道德规范体系中的地位和影响,决定了崇高的师德是"师"之为"师"的根本度量。每一时期的师德都是该时期所提倡的社会核心价值观的体现。习近平提出的"好老师"的四条标准可看成是对新时期师德规范的新凝练。它不仅涵盖了社会主义核心价值观三个层面的全部内容,而且突出了当今师德的时代要求。

Ethics is the soul of teachers.It is determined by teachers' profession characteristics, the special function of education, as well as the status and influence of teachers' ethics in the whole system of social ethics that noble teachers' ethics is a fundamental indicator for measuring a teachers' qualification. Hence, teachers' ethics at each times reflects the core social values of that age. The four principles of 'a qualified teacher' put forward by Xi Jinping summarize the disciplines for teachers' ethics in the new age. The principles not only cover the whole three aspects of core socialist values, but also highlight the demands for teachers' ethics of the times.
