As a teaching method of foreign languages born in U. S,Organic World language （ OWL） put a great emphasis on the training of cultural awareness and social skills. OWL has proved to be efficient in improving the interest of learning foreign lan-guages. The paper introduces the goals and characteristics of OWL,and then analyzes the necessity and feasibility of applying OWL in English Teaching in higher vocational colleges.
