South- South cooperation (SSC) is a mechanism veloping countries pursue their collective development through whereby two or more decooperative exchanges of knowledge, skills, resources and technical know-how, and South-South cooperation in education is one of the most important components of SSC. With the development of globalization and the rise of international organizations' status, international organizations are playing more and more vital role in South-South cooperation in education. UNESCO as the intellectual agency of the United Nations has its unique advantages among lots of international organizations who have integrated themselves into the SSC in education. Firstly, rich and comprehensive educational resources are occupied by UNESCO;secondly, UNESCO tends to protect interests of developing countries and has always kept the focus on South-South Cooperation since its inception, especially in education field; thirdly, in order to reduce costs in the cooperation process, UNESCO constructs a global cooperative network for countries through its more transparent mechanism ; last but not least, UNESCO is irreplaceable among its peers.
