摘要
历史的西方性和地理的亚洲性,始终是澳大利亚外交决策和自我定位的无法逾越的身份冲突。近70年的澳美联盟史书写和阐释澳大利亚在维持和发展澳美联盟关系过程中,始终面临复杂的身份困境的焦灼和自我民族主体性的不断独立、觉醒。这种焦灼和觉醒在亚洲政策上的投射,彰显政党认同的差异、外交政策的价值偏向和结果的迥异。中国的崛起,需要破除澳美联盟的阻遏,澳大利亚身份冲突导致的外交抉择两难,给中国外交的运筹帷幄,提供了机遇。
Australia＇s historical Westernness and geographical Asianness always define the country＇s diplomacy and self-positioning. Nearly 70 years of Australia-US Alliance see and illustrate that Australia has been caught in a deep anxiety caused by complicate identity crisis in the process of its maintenance and development of the Alliance, and its national consciousness being gradually much stronger and more independent. The deep anxiety and strong nation consciousness embedded into Australian policy against Asia highlight the conflicting identities between origin of blood from the West and location in Asia, and differences of party self-identities and preference of foreign policy objectives and the results arising from the above preferences. Australia＇s difficult foreign policy making resulting from identity dilemma provides China good opportunities to break the containment of China＇ s rise by the Australia- US Alliance, which, at the same time, urges us to rethink our pursuits in China＇ s Australia policy.
