摘要
Martin&Rose提出的格律论从小句、段落和语篇3个层面对信息的分布和节奏进行分析,以发现信息流动的规律。以大学英语教材中的议论文为参照,对学生所写的议论文的信息格律特征进行分析,结果表明:学生的作文中明确的宏观主位和宏观新信息形成了语篇层面的大波,但未能对高密度的超主位进行有效解包,影响了段落层面中波的形成;主位类型以及主位推进模式的不当妨碍了轻波的形成,影响了小句间的语义连贯。最后对英语写作教学提出了建议。
Periodicity(Martin Rose),which is concerned with the regularity of information flow,proposes an analysis of the distribution and rhythm of information at three levels,i.e.clause level,paragraph level and discourse level.This thesis analyzed the periodical features of argumentative essays written by Chinese EFL learners in comparison with those in College English textbooks.The results showthat macro Themes and macro News are clearly used in students' essays to form tidal waves; nevertheless,the highly-densed hyper Themes are not unpacked properly to form bigger waves; the improper choice of themes and patterns of thematic progression prevent the formation of little waves.Suggestions for English writing teaching have been proposed at the end of the paper.
