作文自动评价系统在大学英语写作教学中的实证研究——以句酷批改网为例

Empirical study on automated essay scoring(AES)in college English writing teaching——Based on the pigai system

作文批改与反馈是英语写作教学的重要一环对提升学生的大学英语写作水平的作用不可低估,以教育部高等学校大学外语教学指导委员会《大学英语教学指南》(征求意见稿)中有关教学模式改革的相关精神为指导,以基于语料库和云计算的句酷批改网为例,通过实证研究探讨自动评价系统在大学英语写作教学中的有效性。研究发现。批改网反馈及时能提高写作反馈成效,减轻教师作文评阅压力,激发学生自主写作热情,提升其写作水平,这是改进现有英语写作教学模式的有效手段。但研究也显示该系统存在一些不足,还需要不断更新与完善,在此基础上为作文自动评价系统的改善提出了一些建议。

Feedback plays a crucial role in English writing teaching.Its importance to help improve students＇ writing skills cannot be underestimated.This study,with the guidance of College English Teaching guide（draft version） formulated by ELT Advisory Board under the Ministry Education,attempts to take pigai System as an example to explore effectiveness of applying AES to EFL writing teaching.The result indicates that AES not only helps to relieve the heavy burden of college English teachers,but also has a positive effect on enhancing students＇ writing competence and stimulates students＇ autonomous writing enthusiasm.It is an effective method for improving the teaching mode of English writing.Some deficiencies of such AES system,however,are also revealed in the study and thus some suggestions were put forward.
