An Interpretation of Historical Anthropology of Luobo Temple in Wuming County

武鸣罗波庙供奉的主祀神是龙神"特掘",龙母神只是罗波庙的陪祭神,罗波庙不是龙母庙,而是一座龙神庙!清朝道光广西思恩府知府李彦章力主改罗波庙为思恩府属城隍庙,并加以脩崇,并将庙中主神改敬奉明朝思恩军民府土知府岑瑛。罗波庙正是因为获得了明朝思恩府最高行政长官李彦章知府的脩崇并进而纳入官方祀典而获得了"正统性",其地位和影响力不是一般普通的龙母庙可以比拟的。

The principal god of worship in l.uobo Temple in Wuming County is the dragon god Tejue, the Dragon Mother being the accompanied god of worship. Therefore, the Luobo Temple is a temple of Dragon God instead of a temple of Dragon Mother. I.i Yanzhang, the magistrate of Sien Prefecture in Guangxi during Daoguang reign （1821-1850） in Qing Dynasty, made great efforts to turn the Luobo Temple into a town god＇s temple, remodeled it and changed the principal god of worship into Cenying, the former magistrate of Sien Prefecture in Ming Dynasty. It was the remodeling of I.i Yanzhang, the local chief administrative officer that gave the Luobo Temple the legitimacy by including it into the official worshipping system, which led to the higher status and greater influence of the I.uobo Temple compared with the common Dragon Mother temples.
