Based on the archaeological context of the bone si-spade unearthed from the tomb Ⅱ M26 of the middle phase of Taosi Culture, the occupant of this tomb was estimated as an agricultural official, and this bone si-spade was also estimated to be a ritual implement about agriculture. The electron microscopic observation result showed that the scratches on the bone si-spade were an intentionally incised mark. With the proposition that the Taosi Culture belonged to the Central Plains Cultural Sphere, this incised mark was compared with the character "chen辰" in the oracle bone inscriptions of the Yinxu Site; with the reference to the background of the bone si-spade as a ritual implement about agriculture and the occupant of the tomb Ⅱ M26 as an agricultural official, this paper glossed this incised mark as the early form of the Chinese character "chen辰".
