Bone Morphogenetic protein 4 （BMP4） is a member of the BMP family, which is involved in many biological processes,such as cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, and apoptosis etc. Recently, studies demonstrate that BMP4 plays an important role in embryonic development and many tissues, including bone, tumoum, cardiovascular system, brain, especially in the vascular regulation. BMP4 participates in lots of signaling pathways and its mechanisms are really complex. It is crucial to understand the mechanisms of BMP4 that may be an efficient therapeutic method for many clinical diseases.
