Feng shui is the study of the harmonious relatioinship between man and the natural environment of a science. Feng shui theory is the cultural heritage of the Chinese nation down the classic. It is a guide to choose the best suitable human habitat scientific theory. Ancient China, including urban planning, including all types of construction activities are not subject to feng shni theory. Through the elaboration of the origin and connotation of feng shui theory, combining with the deep cultural background and unique water environment of Huaiyang ancient city, this paper collects the rich ancient city l＇fistorical data and analyzes the influence of feng shui theory on Huaiyang ancient city site selection and water .system layout. How to form a modem Huaiyang city characteristics get some inspiration, so as to better provide a favorable theoretical guidance for the construction of contemporary Chinese cities.
