A Study of English Translation and Introduction of Cultural Images in Chinese Traditional Architecture

本文通过研究文化意象的概念及中国传统建筑译介,找出了传统建筑译介中文化意象的缺损和歪曲问题并分析其原因,进一步提出了解决方法及翻译策略——以异化法为主导,适当运用音译、直译和创译,为中国传统建筑中文化意象的译介提供理论和实践支持。

The thesis, through thestudy on the definition of the cultural image and the translation and introduction of Chinese traditional architecture, concludes the findings of the image losses and distortions and its reasons, and therefore makes further research on the solutions and translation strategies of the cultural images--taking foreignization as the leading strategy and using transliteration, literal translation and creative translation properly, which provides the theoretical and practical support of the translation and introduction of the cultural images in Chinese traditional architecture.
