Zha Lie Zhi （A Chorography of Blast） is one of Yah Lianke＇ s best full length novels, which has converged the author＇ s deep reflection on the lost and salvation in the modernization process of rural China, with both insight and bias, albeit the bias will not shade the light of his insight. This novel in general is a fable. It is a fable story about how individuals might lose themselves in greedy, money and selfishness. The author＇ s mood expressed in the novel is pessimistic, but it＇ s also sincere and real. To those ambitious idealists, this novel is short of optimism and happy, but it is also a sober caution or warning, albeit the voice is a little bit harsh.
