我国当代名辩研究获得了空前的发展。作为当代名辩研究的重要开拓者,李先焜先生居功至伟。他不仅开创了当代名辩符号学研究范式,打破了名辩逻辑化研究传统,使我国名辩研究重获生机与活力,而且运用符号学分析工具,对儒家正名理论、名家名学和墨家名辩等先秦诸子思想,给出了精辟独到、令人信服的解读。正是在他的积极倡导与大力推动下,我国名辩符号学研究范式已取代传统的名辩逻辑化研究范式,成为了当代名辩理论研究的主要范式,并呈现出前所未有的蓬勃兴旺发展态势,使我国名辩研究走向了一个新时代。
