杨立诚生平事略考

Textual Research on Yang Licheng's Biographical Sketch

考证20世纪重要的图书馆学者杨立诚的生卒年代、所受教育、图书馆活动及学术成就。结果表明,杨立诚生于1888年,卒于1959年,北京大学哲学系毕业,巴黎大学和德国也那大学肄业。其图书馆活动主要包括在江西省立图书馆、浙江省立图书馆任职期间的活动、擅自提走图书馆基金与违规申领特别办公费三个方面。其学术成就包括编译国外著作、发表不同类型的文章(调查报告、介绍文章、译文、会议报道等)、编制书目和索引、出版著作、评论中外著者排列法。最后,指出他功过参半,足资今人厉戒。

Yang Licheng was an important library scholar in the 20th century. This article makes textual research on Yang Licheng’s dates of birth and death, education, library activities and academic achievements. The results show that Yang Licheng was born in 1888 and died in 1959. He graduated from Peking University with a degree in philosophy and ever studied in Paris University and Jena University. His library activities mainly include the following aspects, namely, activities during his appointment at Jiangxi Provincial Library and Zhejiang Provicial Library, drawing out library funds on his own and claiming special office fee against relevant rules. His academic achievements include compiling foreign monographs, publishing various types of articles （such as survey reports, introduction to articles, translating articles, and meeting reports）, compiling bibliographies and index, publishing monographs, making comments on the author-ranking methods at home and abroad. At the end of this article, it is pointed out that Yang Licheng has mixed merits and demerits, from whom people nowadays could draw a lesson.
