归化异化视角下解读《追风筝的人》汉译本

On the Chinese Version of The Kite Runner from the Perspective of Domestication and Foreignization

阿富汗裔美国作家卡勒德·胡塞尼于2003年出版了个人的第一部小说《追风筝的人》,巧妙且惊人的情节和独特的文化韵味使小说备受关注。李继宏所译《追风筝的人》汉译本于2006年出版,译本大获好评,一度成为讨论焦点。归化和异化的翻译策略是翻译过程中的重要理论,使用率很高,多年来一直受到学者们的研究。笔者将以李继宏所译《追风筝的人》为文本展开讨论,探究归化和异化翻译理论在文化元素丰富的文学作品中的应用及达到的效果。这一探究能够丰富翻译领域对归化和异化翻译策略的研究,为译者在翻译过程中对归化异化翻译策略的使用起到参考和指导作用,帮助译者在翻译多元素文化作品时更好把握对归化异化的使用,从而达到翻译的目的,体现译作的价值。

Afghan-American author Khaled Hosseini published his first novel The Kite Runner in 2003 which was ingenious and had spectacular plots and a unique cultural flavor that has attracted so much at- tention. The Chinese version of The Kite Runner translated by Li Jihong was published in 2006, winning the praises of its audiences and became the focus of discussions in the country of China. The translation strategies referred to as ＂Domestication＂ and ＂Foreignization＂ are some of the most significant and fre- quently used theories in the process of translating and as such have been studied by scholars for many years. This thesis will evaluate the Chinese version of The Kite Runner, translated by Li Jihong and use it as an example to explore the application and effectiveness of the use of the domestication and for- eignization strategies in a literary novel which contains multiple cultural elements. The thesis will enrich the future researches of the domestication and foreignization in the translation field, which can bring guid- ance and reference to translators and help them to use these two strategies more effectively especially when they translate multicuhural works so that translators can achieve their purposes of translation and express the values of their translated works.
