Higher mathematics is one of the most important basic theoretical courses for students of science and engineering. By means of the combination of number and shape, the abstract concepts in higher mathematics can be transformed into visual and specific graphics, which has a positive effect on students＇ understanding of mathematics problems, and can improve the teaching effect of higher mathematics. Based on the practice of higher mathematics teaching, this paper discusses the importance of the combination of number and shape in teaching, and puts forward the application strategies and suggestions in teaching practice.
