于右任是民国元老,著名的书法家和教育家。他试图通过创制标准草书并加以推广,提高中国方块字的使用效率,以达到利国利民之目的。但是,由于中国文字的复杂性,民国时期中国社会的内忧外患,尽管标准草书创制成功,但是推广失败,没有达到预期的目的。根本的原因既与当时的社会大背景有关,也与汉字书写的方法与艺术审美特点有关。于右任创制草书服务社会的探索至今仍有现实意义可供借鉴。
