关于程式语“整存整取”观的几点思考

Some Thoughts on the "Holistic Storage and Processing" of Formulaic Sequences

近10年来,程式语的心理表征与加工已成为心理语言学中的一个热点问题。先前的研究常基于程式语的加工优势,得出"程式语整存整取"的结论。实际上,程式语"整存整取"观意味着其表征与加工不受单个成分词汇的、语义的或句法属性的影响,而以往研究仅考察了程式语相对于一般短语的加工速度问题,未能触及"整存整取"这一问题的本质。在评述复合词和诸多类型程式语加工研究对程式语"整存整取"观挑战的基础上,结合相关理论提出程式语的双重存储与提取模式,以期解决关于程式语存取模式观点的分歧与争论。

The mental representation and processing of formulaic sequences （FSs hereafter） has become one of the hot topics in psycholinguistics for the recent ten years or so. Based on significant processing advantages of FSs over their matched control phrases, most researchers tend to arrive at the conclu- sion that ＂formulaic sequences are holistically stored and processed. ＂ In essence, the ＂holistic storage and processing＂ of FSs entails that its representation and processing are not influenced by the lexical, semantic or syntactic properties of its constituent words. But previous research only looked at the processing speed of FSs over regular phrases, failing to answer the question whether FSs are indeed ＂holistically represented and processed＂. This article elaborates on the doubts cast by related research on the processing of compounds and various types of FSs, and finally puts forward a dual storage and processing model of FSs, based on some relevant theories.
